Confirm the official booking
Check the VicRoads location, date and exact start time in your booking confirmation. Do not rely on memory or a calendar entry created weeks earlier. Read any instructions that came with the booking and confirm the current eligibility, identification and logbook requirements that apply to you.
LPF does not select a suggested test slot for you. When requesting a test package, enter the exact start time provided by VicRoads so the live calendar can assess the warm-up, travel and existing bookings.
Organise the arrival plan
LPF lessons and test packages use the school’s automatic, dual-control Toyota Corolla Cross. Confirm your pickup and drop-off arrangements with LPF; test packages normally start and finish at VicRoads. Instruction in a customer’s own vehicle is not offered.
Plan to arrive with enough time to complete the required check-in without rushing. Excessive last-minute practice can increase fatigue, so use the warm-up to settle, revisit key routines and become comfortable in the car.
Practise safe processes, not a memorised route
Assessment is about consistent safe driving. Keep working on observation, speed choice, gap judgement, lane position, signalling, low-speed control and independent responses to changing conditions.
Memorising a route is not a substitute for reading the road. Traffic, works, weather and instructions can change. Your safest preparation is a process you can use wherever the assessor directs you.
On the day
Eat, hydrate and wear the same kind of comfortable shoes you normally drive in. Bring the required physical or digital documents in the format VicRoads accepts. Put your phone away and give yourself a few quiet minutes before the assessment.
Feeling nervous does not automatically mean you are unprepared. Slow your breathing, listen fully before acting and return attention to the next safe decision. One imperfect moment does not helpfully predict the rest of the drive.
Questions learners ask
Does this checklist replace VicRoads instructions?
No. VicRoads and Transport Victoria are the source of truth. Requirements can change, so check the official information linked from LPF’s resource section.
Can I book an LPF test package after VicRoads confirms my time?
Yes, subject to availability. Enter the exact date and start time so LPF can check the calendar and travel plan.
